Learning the bagpipes-Where do I start?

"I wouldn't know where to start!"

This is one of the most common phrases I hear when it comes to learning to play the pipes.

Every piper starts at the beginning - with a practice chanter. This is a musical instrument in it's own right and a good quality, Scottish made practice chanter is a relatively inexpensive item to start learning with. Typically, a learner will spend 12 months on the practice chanter before progressing on to the big pipes proper. It's also a relatively quiet instrument, so you won't annoy the neighbours!

If you are interested in learning more about playing the pipes, or know someone who does, please get in touch to find out how. I'm hoping to have a few slots available soon so why not give piping a try.
